Project week #3 – after the experience

Overall, I really enjoyed the three days of my project week. I gained so many hard skills as well as soft skills. One of the things that I enjoyed the most was the tennis lessons. I have always enjoyed playing tennis with my family as a hobby, however, I had never taken classes. During the project, I was able to learn how to use my backhand as well as to do a serve. During the lessons, we always supported each other by cheering up and keeping a positive atmosphere. I have also acquired photo-taking skills which I believe will be relevant to any kind of project that I will come across in the future. I learned how photos can be an art piece as well as a medium for telling a story. On top of that, I am looking forward to using my baking and cooking skills at home and trying out the different recipes that we have tried during the cooking lessons.

As we had a full schedule for all three days, there were times when one of us or all of us were a bit tired. At such times, we tried to focus on the skills and experiences that we could gain. Even when we were tired from the previous classes, we never forgot to be considerate to each other; we took turns for tasks that were rather energy-consuming and tasks that were very enjoyable. Such soft skills that I gained through the tennis, photography, and baking lessons will definitely be useful in my future. And most importantly, I have learned to appreciate my friends more as by spending time together for a long time, I realized each of our strengths and weaknesses as well as how we support each other despite our differenes.

Finally, throughout the experience, I realized the importance of showing my gratitude to all our supervisors and program providers as they adjusted their schedules and took their time to come up with a plan that worked with the purpose of the project. I kept in mind to constantly show my gratitude towards them by helping set up and clean the places and obviously to never be late for any of the projects.
