“Unplugged” – music performance

A few months ago, I wasn’t still sure if I should audition for a school singing performance event, Unplugged. Although I truly enjoy singing and performing, I’d never sung in front of many people and I wasn’t sure if I was ready for it. I also needed several people who could help me out and perform with me. I was somehow reluctant to ask for help because of a lack of confidence. I asked one of my friends in my music class and he was more than happy to help me find other members. After communicating with them, I realized that there was nothing to be scared of and that we all just truly enjoy music and that was why I liked music in the first place.

The most amazing thing that made me feel glad that I joined was to meet so many new people who shared the same passion for music. Everyone was excited for a live performance that hadn’t taken place for a long time, and I truly enjoyed the time I spent with them. I was once again reminded by myself how much I liked music and watching my friends’ performances inspired me in many ways. Through this event, I believe I became a bit more comfortable performing and speaking in front of people and I’m glad that music has helped me through my journey to overcome my weaknesses.
